The authorities of the Canton Grisons draw a positive conclusion following the 47th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). As always, all WEF events were carried out in an orderly and peaceful manner. Due to the current threat level, all security forces were tasked with heightened control and intelligence activities. The measures taken proved to be effective and no security-related incidents occurred.

The attendance of a large Chinese delegation headed by President Xi Jinping proved to be a special challenge this year. In addition, a large number of government representatives and ministers as well as leading personalities from business, politics, and science participated in this year's annual meeting. Six of the seven members of the Swiss Federal Council took the opportunity for talks within this national and international environment. At the same time, members of the Cantonal Government of the Canton Grisons met with numerous representatives from the business community as well as members of the governments of other cantons and the Swiss Confederation in Davos.

The Canton Grisons and the alpine city of Davos were once again able to underscore their importance as a convention venue while further promoting Switzerland’s reputation as a safe and peaceful location for dialogue and exchange of views. Various demonstrations were approved, and carried out peacefully. Both the enhanced control activities by the security forces and increased police presence enjoyed wide acceptance among WEF participants as well as the local populace. The Government of the Canton Grisons notes with satisfaction that the challenges were mastered and the entire week was peaceful and quiet.

The World Economic Forum in Davos is possible only with the support of the numerous partners and the local populace. The WEF Committee for the Government of the Canton Grisons would thus like to take the opportunity to thank all cantons and the cities of Chur, St. Gall, and Zurich as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein for their willingness to participate in the security mission surrounding the WEF. This thanks extends as well to all security forces of the police, the armed forces, and the border guard.
